Gia is a wonderful 2-3 years old German Shepherd mix from South Texas. She is active, but has no problem settling in and snuggling on the couch. She doesn't like her crate, but doesn't mind it once she is in it. At night, she prefers to be comfy in the bed with her foster parents. She loves to play with chew toys and is learning how to play with her foster dog siblings. When she first arrived at her foster home she was very withdrawn, but has really come out of her shell! She has a high prey drive for rabbits and squirrels, so a home without cats is preferred. Gia has great leash manners and doesn't pull when walking. Gia is working on the meaning of "off" because she does like to jump up on people and the counter, but she is getting better every day! Gia has made wonderful progress in her foster home and is ready for her forever home! If you're interested in making Gia a permanent member of your family, please fill out an application at www.journeyhomegsd.org

Snowflake is an active, spunky young girl looking for her forever home! She is a young shepherd mix who loves to play ball. She needs an active home with a fenced yard. Snowflake would be a great running or hiking partner! She is friendly with other dogs, but would not do well in a home with cats. Jasmine is a happy go lucky young girl. She loves everyone she meets. She is good with kids and other dogs. She likes to chase cats. She has a decent amount of energy and would be a good dog to take on a hike or a jog. She is active but relaxes nicely when inside. She is house and crate trained. She is an absolutely fantastic, sweet dog. Definitely loves to be in your lap!!! Evie is just under a year old and is absolutely gorgeous! Evie had a rough start to life. She was raised in a kennel along with her sister for the first 6 months of her life before being rescued. Due to her lack of socialization as a puppy, it takes her a short while to warm up to strangers. She needs an experienced dog owner who will socialize her properly with new people and experiences while allowing her to move at her own pace. Evie is very dog friendly and would benefit from having a confident, friendly dog in the home to show her that she doesn't need to be afraid. She is good with kids and didn't seem to mind the cats in her previous foster home, but will require supervision if adopted to a home with cats. She is still struggling with house training, but once she gets into a routine we know she will do just fine! A fenced yard is highly preferred. Her sister went to a fantastic home and now it is Evie's turn! If you're interested in fostering OR adopting Evie, please fill out an application on our website at www.journeyhomegsd.org Check out facebook.com/journeyhomegsd for updates!

Abby is a young 70 pound female German Shepherd who loves everyone! She is good with other dogs and doesn't seem to mind cats at all, although she should be supervised around them when they are interacting together. Abby is currently in a foster home and we can't wait to post updates on her progress! Abby walks well on a leash and knows "sit." She is working on not jumping up, but with some consistency she will be a fantastic dog. Abby is very easy going and would be a great addition to any family, especially one that is new to the shepherd breed! If you are interested in making Abby a permanent member of your family, please fill out an application on our website at www.journeyhomegsd.org and check out our Facebook page for updates! facebook.com/journeyhomegsd

Arco is a 7 year old neutered German Shepherd. His previous owner passed away and Arco was left to roam. During this time, he suffered a gunshot wound which was removed and has no lasting effects. He is slowly learning what is expected of him in his new surroundings. He is kennel and house trained, walks well on a leash, and knows how to sit, lay down, and stay. Arco also does well with the children in the home as well as two other large dogs. Due to a high prey drive, Arco would not be a good fit for a family with cats or other small animals. If you're interested in adopting Arco, please fill out an application at www.journeyhomegsd.org

Gentry is just what everyone wants in a puppy - fun, sweet, and energetic! He is doing very well with house training in his foster home. He doesn't like to be in his kennel, but so far doesn't make a mess if he gets the run of the house for short amounts of time. He loves other dogs and kids. Unfortunately, Gentry had a rough start to life. He was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas and just when he made it to Journey Home and life got better, we discovered that he has hip issues. He will need surgery within the next year to fix his hips. (The surgery will be covered by the rescue at an agreed upon veterinarian.) We aren't going to let this stop him from finding his forever home! If you are the very special home this boy is looking for, please contact us!

Major is a one year old, 80 pound German Shepherd looking for his forever home! Check out those ears! He was rescued from a shelter in California. When he first arrived, he was skinny and nervous. He has gained much needed weight (we expect him to reach 90 pounds) and really come out of his shell in his foster home! He is fully house trained and good with kids. He is good with other dogs if introduced properly. He needs an experienced owner who is willing to work with him on a few things. He is still working on crate training and enjoys checking out the kitchen counter for snacks if left alone, but who doesn't love snacks? Major has not been introduced to cats. He would do best in a home with an active family who has a lot of time to spend with this handsome boy since he struggles with some anxiety if left alone for too long. If you are interested in adopting Major, please fill out an application at www.journeyhomegsd.org

Randy is a handsome, energetic, intelligent 5 year old. He is perfectly house trained and crate trained. He loves to be outside on walks and playing fetch. Randy needs a home with German Shepherd experience and no other male dogs or cats. He responds exceedingly well to positive training techniques and lots of treats. He is good with his two shepherd sisters in his foster home after very slow introduction. They are working on teaching him his manners. He is a wonderful companion dog with adults and older children, but would be perfectly happy getting all the attention to himself.

Nicky is a young, energetic and playful dog that is house and kennel trained. She is used to being in her kennel for an 8 hour work day (4 hours at a time) and she is used to sleeping in her kennel at night. If you're looking for a dog who loves to play frisbee, Nicky is your girl! While she would love a fenced yard, she is used to going outside on a long leash. She gets along well with the other dog in her foster home. She has learned numerous commands including "come, wait, sit, heel, find it." Nicky is very food motivated, so she will be a quick study for any new things her adoptive family wants to teach her. Once she warms up to you, she is super sweet!
